Metrobank has partnered with Mastercard to launch an initiative that allows cardholders to contribute to reforestation efforts through their everyday transactions.
Under Mastercard’s Priceless Causes program, Metrobank debit and credit Mastercard holders can help support tree-planting activities through their purchases. In observance of Philippine Environment Month, one tree will be planted for every P2,000 spent using a Metrobank Mastercard on 30 June.
The initiative will continue beyond June, allowing customers to contribute to environmental efforts through regular card use and rewards redemption.
From 30 June to 31 December 2026, Metrobank Mastercard credit cardholders may also convert their rewards points into tree-planting contributions. Every 8,000 rewards points redeemed through the Metrobank App or SMS will correspond to four trees planted.
All reforestation activities under the program will be managed by Conservation International, a global nonprofit organization focused on environmental protection and sustainable development.
“This partnership lets everyday spending do something more meaningful. It’s our way of helping customers not just manage their finances, but also support causes that matter, making impact part of daily life,” said Gail Male, head of Metrobank Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Digital Channels Group.
Jason Crasto, Mastercard country manager, said the partnership enables customers to support environmental initiatives through their routine purchases.
“We are happy to partner with Metrobank and enable their clients to make a positive impact on the environment. Together with Metrobank, we are turning everyday purchases into opportunities to support reforestation and create lasting impact,” Crasto said.
