Former OFW Party List Rep. Marissa "Del Mar" P. Magsino condemned the scheme laid down by recently arrested Norman Mangusin, aka "Francis Leo Marcos," against overseas Filipino workers and urged authorities to slap him with the necessary charges for his illegal acts.

To recall, Mangusin, who is also suspected of scamming OFWs for the past few years, was arrested by authorities.

Rep. Del Mar said it is her duty to speak as the Representative of the OFW Partylist.

There have been allegations that the said personality was scheming up to 80 million pesos out of our Kababayans abroad, asking for donations for his bogus charity events and humanitarian activities here in the Philippines.

The lady former solon quipped, "The investigations are still ongoing, but I would like to affirm that I personally condemn such spiteful operation being done at the expense of our beloved OFWs. Our partylist will fight any malicious act against our Kababayans, our hardworking and dedicated heroes."

"With that being said, I am commending the efforts of our law enforcement for arresting the said individual and, in a way, giving justice to our Kababayans who had been victimized by his alleged wrongdoings. We also commend the efforts being done by our government in further investigating the fraudulent activities of this person, and its initiative to aid our OFWs." She added that they will continue to coordinate and work hand-in-hand with the government in securing the well-being of OFWs around the globe, especially against the likes of Norman Mangusin.

"To our beloved Kababayans, the OFW Partylist is always ready to hear any of your concern. This partylist will be your No. 1 ally, and we will dedicate ourselves to serving your needs."
