Murder suspect wanted in QC caught in Las Navas
CATARMAN, Northern Samar – A suspected member of the communist New People’s Army, who went into hiding due to a murder case in Quezon City, was arrested in a joint law enforcement operation on 13 February 2025, in Las Navas, Northern Samar.
Northern Samar Police Provincial Office acting provincial director P/Col George Buyacao said the 25-year-old suspect is listed as the second most wanted person in the province and third in Quezon City.
He said the operation was led by the 2nd Northern Samar Provincial Mobile Force Company, together with Cubao Police Station of Quezon City Police District, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Special Operations Unit, Las Navas Municipal Police Station, and troops of the 19th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army.
The arrest was made through a warrant for the crime of murder issued by the National Capital Region's Trial Court Branch 81, with no bail recommended.
The suspect was brought to the Las Navas municipal police station for documentation before being turned over to the issuing court.
Buyacao commended the operating units for the successful operation, saying the accomplishment reflects the strong collaboration between the police and military forces in the relentless campaign against wanted persons and criminal elements.
“This successful operation demonstrates our firm commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure that justice is served. We will continue to intensify our efforts in tracking down fugitives and maintaining peace and order in Northern Samar,” Buyacao said.
