The Provincial Health Office (PHO) conducted a dry run of the Pampanga Floating Hospital at the coastal barangays of Pampanga on 10 February 2026 to provide medical services to Kapampangans living near the coastal areas.

According to the Provincial Government, Dr. Dax Tidula led the said dry run wherein more than 60 patients were given immediate medical services that include primary laboratory services such as blood extraction, ECG and dental services.

The floating hospital has the capacity to receive 50 to 100 patients. Once fully operational, the floating hospital will have the capacity to conduct medical services such as ultrasound, X-ray, medical consultations, minor surgeries, and OB examination.

Once fully deployed, the floating hospital will anchor at a specific coastal barangay for more than one week at a time to ensure comprehensive medical coverage for local residents.

The Pampanga Floating Hospital, officially known as the Clinic-on-Barge, is the Philippines' first-ever floating clinic designed to provide healthcare to remote and coastal communities.

As of February 2026, the Provincial Health Office has successfully conducted dry runs and is preparing for full deployment to coastal barangays.

The P28 million, 112-square-meter facility is part of the “Alagang Nanay Preventive Healthcare Program” and is equipped to serve 50 to 200 patients daily.

Launched by the Provincial Government of Pampanga led by Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, the project aims to bridge healthcare gaps for “Kabalens” in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDA) that are difficult to reach by land. It complements other local initiatives like the Hospital on Wheels, which conducts land-based medical missions in remote areas such as Porac.
