Police arrested Sorsogon province’s most wanted person Saturday night during an operation at his residence in Barangay 73, Pasay City, authorities said.
The suspect, identified by the alias Ronald, was taken into custody by operatives from Pasay City Police Sub-Station 10. The construction worker was arrested on multiple warrants issued by Judge Zach Zaragoza Ziga of the Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 12.
Ronald faces five counts of sexual assault and four counts of rape, all of which are classified as heinous crimes. The court set bail at P200,000 for each count of sexual assault but recommended no bail for the rape charges.
Following the arrest, the suspect was turned over to the station’s warrant and subpoena section for documentation before being committed to the court of origin in Sorsogon.
Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo commended the units involved for the lawful apprehension of the suspect, adding that the district will continue to intensify manhunt operations against wanted persons, with a specific focus on those involved in crimes against women and children.
He added that the district will sustain coordination with police units nationwide to ensure offenders are brought to justice.
