The operations were carried out by the Police Regional Office (PRO) Cordillera in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Cordillera and various local police units.

In Kibungan town, authorities discovered 14 marijuana plantation sites across the barangays of Palina, Tacadang and Badeo. Operatives uprooted 15,030 fully grown marijuana plants and 1,200 seedlings, with an estimated standard drug price of P3.05 million.

In a separate operation in Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, law enforcers uncovered another plantation site containing 1,750 fully grown marijuana plants valued at about P350,000.

The combined value of the illegal drugs destroyed in both municipalities was estimated at P3.4 million.

Police said all discovered marijuana plants were uprooted and burned on-site. Follow-up investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for cultivating the plantations and to determine whether other illegal grow sites are operating in the province.
