Long before she became a trusted name in fine jewelry, Christine Deo Seseh Danguilit was already drawn to the quiet sparkle of possibility.

Growing up in Iligan, Mindanao, she didn’t discover gold and diamonds in grand boutiques — but in modest pawnshop windows that ignited a lifelong fascination.

“Sa amin sa hometown ko sa Iligan sa Mindanao wala naman mga malalaking tindahan doon dati, hilig ko na tumingin ng mga alahas sa mga pawnshop (In my hometown in Iligan in Mindanao, there were no big stores. I loved to look at jewelry from pawnshops),” she recalled.

What began as curiosity soon turned into instinct — a pull toward beauty, value and trade that would define her future.

Like many entrepreneurs, Christine’s path wasn’t straight. She explored different ventures, testing her grit and adaptability.

“Marami rin ako pinasok sa ibang business (I’ve tried many businesses) — sumubok ako sa (I tried) piggery, farming, skin clinics — pero dito talaga sa diamonds and gold ako hinahatak pabalik (but this, in diamonds and gold, is where I’m pulled right back),” she said.

The jewelry world kept calling, and eventually, she answered for good.

Her first concrete step was humble — and decisive. “Una kong masasabi step sa business na ito ‘yung bumili ako ng papel de agencia worth 900 pesos (I can say that the first step I took in business was to buy a pawn ticket for P900). Nagkaroon ako ng bracelet and from there hindi na ako tumigil (I bought my first bracelet and I’ve never stopped since).”

From that single bracelet grew a business built on courage, consistency and relentless learning.

The climb wasn’t without heartbreak. At one point, Christine faced a loss that could have ended everything.

“Na-scam din ako — talagang lagpak ako noon, halos 100 million ang nawala sa akin (I also fell victim to a scam. I lost almost P100 million),” she claimed.

But even at rock bottom, she chose resilience: “Bangon lang ako ulit (I just got up again).” No drama, no shortcuts — just resolve.

She traced her entrepreneurial bloodline to her father, whose livelihood depended on grit and movement.

“Namana ko siguro ang talent ko sa negosyo sa tatay ko (I probably inherited my business talent from my dad) — business niya dati ‘yung dried fish, dinadala niya sa iba’t ibang lugar (his business was dried fish he used to bring in different places).”

From him, she learned that honest work travels far.

Trust, Christine believes, is her quiet superpower: “Ang secret siguro, wala akong filter — kung ano ako, eto talaga ako kaya marami rin ang nagtitiwala sa akin (The secret perhaps is that I don’t have a filter — what you see is what you get that’s why many are trusting me).”
