Feeling alluded to, Barbie Imperial reacted to a blind item she felt clearly identified her.
Imperial recently posted on Facebook her major achievement in life where she announced completion of her newly-constructed house in her hometown in Bicol, calling it a product of “sweat, blood and tears.” The property, she stressed, was built after her decade-long journey in showbiz as a Star Magic and ABS-CBN talent.
Imperial’s joyful announcement was marred by a blind item about a “lovely celebrity” who allegedly received a luxury house from an exceedingly rich admirer.
Reacting to the blind item, Imperial wrote: Lol this is so obvious its (sic) about me. Hindi nalang kayo maging masaya (Why not just be happy). I can proudly say NO MAN helped me achieve this. Kung sino pa yung sarili mong kapwa pinoy talaga hihila sayo pababa (Whoever is your fellow Filipino will pull you down). God bless you, whoever you are. Makagawa ka lang ng kwento (Just so you can weave a story). bye.”
Marinel Cruz, an editor of the website where the blind item was written, reacted to Imperial’s aria: “Blind items are meant to be anonymous. In fact, many celebrities can be identified in this one so why call attention to yourself?”
In exasperation, perhaps, Imperial shared a screenshot of her conversation with the website administrator.
“The details lang kasi pwedeng pwede akong pwedeng ako eh... Hope you understand that I have to make sure people know it’s not me,” she wrote.
“Sorry, but since it’s obviously not you based on the clues, we will not take down the BI. The details say it all: the property value alone reaches over a hundred million and it is located in a posh village in the south. Those make you outside the scope of suspects,” the website replied.
Why Willie Revillame’s show hangs on a thread
So, Willie Revillame’s much-awaited television comeback is really happening, but not on TV5 as hyped months back. It will be on his own channel.
Clearly, Revillame stands to lose in this scenario as the channel his show is appearing at is very new.
It doesn’t help that rumors circulating around social media say there are some members of the production who left the show in a huff after a dry-run of the new show did not go well.
In a video that surfaced online, Revillame articulated his disgust over the entire production people. It showed him openly lambasting the crew for the gaffes they wittingly or unwittingly made.
“Alam n’yo, I’m sorry, ha. Palagay ko papalitan ko kayong lahat. Sorry, hindi ninyo ginagawa ‘yung trabaho ninyo nang maayos. TV5, magkita-kita tayo diyan. (You know, I’m sorry, ha. I think I will replace all of you. I’m sorry but you don’t do your work properly. TV5, I’ll see you all there),” Revillame said
In another video clip, Revillame unabashedly said: “Bigyan n’yo ako ng babae. Ayoko ng puro lalaki. Lalaki na ‘yung nanalo kahapon, eh. Ba’t puro lalaki ito? Bigyan n’yo ako ng babae (Give me a woman. I don’t like all men. The winner yesterday was already a man. Why are they all men? Give me a woman).”
