The Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued a show cause order Wednesday to the owner and driver of an SUV caught on video performing a dangerous maneuver on the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (NAIAX).
The viral footage shows a Ford Everest deviating from a toll gate lane and abruptly crossing into the wrong lane, nearly colliding with another vehicle.
LTO Assistant Secretary Markus Lacalinao said the driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days effective immediately while the investigation continues.
The vehicle involved has also been placed under an “alarm status,” prohibiting its use without specific government permission.
The registered owner and the driver are ordered to appear before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division in Quezon City on 28 January at 11 a.m.
They must submit a sworn explanation as to why they should not face administrative charges, including reckless driving, disregarding traffic signs, and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.
