  • The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued show-cause orders (SCOs) against the driver and registered owner of a sports car, as well as its LTO-accredited importer, over alleged irregularities in the vehicle’s registration.

LTO Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao said all vehicle registration transactions must be supported by accurate documents and proper procedures.

The driver, registered owner and importer were ordered to appear before the LTO Central Office’s Intelligence and Investigation Division on 8 September to submit sworn statements and supporting documents.

The accredited importer was also ordered to explain why it should not be held liable under Memorandum Circular AVT 2014-023 over alleged fraud and misinterpretation in its application and operations, including stock and sales reporting.
