A 50-year-old construction worker was shot and killed at close range Monday afternoon near his home in Valenzuela, in an attack that also left an elderly bystander wounded by a stray bullet.
Police identified the victim as Pepito Lopez, a resident of Barrio Bitik in Barangay Gen. T. De Leon.
Valenzuela police chief Col. Joseph Talento said Lopez had just dismounted his bicycle and was speaking with two men when a suspect, identified as alias “Danny,” approached from behind and fired a revolver. Lopez was struck in the neck and died instantly.
