Valenzuela school suspends classes after shooting threat

Classes at a school in Valenzuela City were temporarily suspended Tuesday while police investigated a handwritten note warning of a potential shooting on campus, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said.

At a news conference, PNP spokesperson Police Col. Allen Rae Co said an unidentified individual handed a warning note to a faculty member, alleging that a person on campus possessed a firearm and intended to carry out a shooting.

Police officers coordinated with school administration officials, conducted security sweeps of the premises, and tracked down the individual named in the note. Authorities confirmed that no immediate threat or firearms were found on the scene.

Investigators are working with faculty members and school administrators to identify the author of the note and determine whether the incident was a deliberate hoax.
