MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power), a subsidiary of Razon-led Primelectric Holdings Inc., is expecting more businesses and households to switch to its services as it rolls out operations in Iloilo’s 2nd and 4th districts.
The company completed its first consumer transfer over the weekend. International Builders Corp. (IBC) officially switched its electricity account to MORE Power, making it the first in the country to switch to a new utility in an expanded service area.
“Many other entities will be following IBC this year. This is for the expanded areas in the 2nd and 4th districts of Iloilo,” MORE Power President and CEO Roel Castro said in a mobile message on Monday.
“This is fulfilling the clamor of consumers from adjacent Ilecos to extend to them the same kind of services that MORE customers are getting. This also means that consumers now have the freedom of choice as to where they can get value for money for their businesses and homes,” he added.
Despite expanding beyond its original franchise area, Castro said MORE Power is fully capable of delivering on its commitments while meeting consumer expectations.
The expansion follows public demand, which prompted Congressmen Michael Gorriceta and Braeden John Biron to file an expanded franchise bill in September 2021.
