The Department of Agrarian Reform said it is set to distribute around 2 million hectares of land to agrarian reform beneficiaries nationwide.
DAR Undersecretary Niña Taduran said during a press briefing with the Palace Communications Office on Thursday afternoon that each beneficiary may receive a maximum of three hectares of land.
Taduran said more than 10 land distribution activities were carried out last year, with the most recent for 2025 held in Cagayan de Oro City.
"The DAR's mandate, the order given to us, does not just end with land distribution... You need to provide support services, farm machineries and equipment, [and] post harvest facilities," Taduran said.
She added that the DAR also conducts seminars and training programs to fully empower beneficiaries who receive land.
Support services, Taduran said, include monitoring whether the distributed land is being cultivated productively, noting that some beneficiaries opt to sell the land awarded to them.
She also stressed that the sale of distributed land is prohibited under Republic Act No. 6657, or the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Law.
