Personnel of the Plaridel Municipal Police Station (MPS) have arrested the suspect in the shooting incident that left a man dead in front of a gasoline station in Barangay Tabang, Plaridel, Bulacan, on 3 January 2026.
Police identified the victim as 40-year-old Jeffrey Enriquez y Tamayo, a cellphone technician and owner of Jhepoy Accessories & Phone Repair. He was shot at the scene at around 1 a.m.
The incident was reported to the Plaridel MPS at around 2 a.m., prompting a follow-up operation later that afternoon. At around 2:30 p.m., operatives, assisted by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit and the Cabanatuan City Police Station, launched a manhunt.
The operation led to the arrest of the suspect at a hotel in Barangay ACCFA, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, at around 5:30 p.m. on the same day.
Authorities recovered a caliber .45 pistol, live ammunition, and a white Mitsubishi L300 allegedly used as the getaway vehicle.
The suspect is currently in police custody and faces a murder charge. Recovered evidence is undergoing forensic and ballistic examination.
