A drug suspect, classified by police as a street-level individual on the drug watchlist, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Taytay, Rizal on Monday night.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Demson,” was apprehended by operatives of the Taytay Municipal Police Station’s drug enforcement team along Mahinhin Street, Barangay Dolores, at around 9:10 p.m.
Police said alias Demson allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an officer acting as a poseur-buyer, leading to his arrest.
Seized from the suspect were five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 15 grams, with an estimated street value of P102,000.
Also recovered during the operation were the P500 buy-bust money, P500 in cash, and a coin purse.
The suspect is currently detained at the Taytay Municipal Police Station custodial facility and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
