A firearm and ammunition were recovered during a search-and-retrieval operation conducted in Barangay Sta. Lucia Old, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija on 19 December 2025.
Police said the operation was launched based on information provided by a former member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) who voluntarily surrendered to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st PMFC) of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) on 4 December 2025.
Acting on the intelligence, combined elements of the NEPPO 1st PMFC (lead unit), Zaragoza Municipal Police Station, Licab MPS, Quezon MPS, NEPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, and PIT NE-RIU3 carried out the operation.
Authorities recovered one caliber .38 revolver without serial markings and four rounds of caliber .38 ammunition.
The seized firearm and ammunition will be turned over to the 1st PMFC NEPPO Headquarters for proper documentation and disposition.
The Philippine National Police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to their nearest police station.
