SANSO coaster W box and Sanso plate
This year, Filipino artists gained the spotlight not only on canvas, but also on surfaces we used to consider utilitarian.
Innovative minds have made it possible for fine art to find a place in our homes.
There is Casa Juan, a Filipino homeware brand that has continuously highlighted Philippine culture, heritage and creativity, one plate at a time.
Since it was launched in 2020, the brand has built and developed an entire range of products for the home that tell the story of local life. It has also engaged in various creative collaborations with designers, illustrators and artists, underscoring a commitment to bring the best that the country has to offer to every home or dining experience.
This year, Casa Juan introduced its biggest collection of dining and homeware collectibles including plates, coasters, side tables, jewelry boxes and serving trays. Featured artist was modernist painter Juvenal Sansó. Chosen from the private collection of Fundacion Sansó, pieces on feature were Of Profound Joy, Of Gentle Reminiscences, Of Bounteous Optimism and With Gentle Exuberance. It is said that these paintings, from the En Vas Series, were made by the modernist master when he was at his happiest. Sansó believed in art as therapy.
Idyllic landscapes, as depicted in A Cerulean Daydream and Endearing Charm, are also showcased in the collection. Sansó, who spend a considerable amount of time in Britanny, was known for immortalizing scenes from places he has visited in the past. Most of the artist’s images are drawn from a place between imagination and memory. Yet they serve as reminders of a happy time.
His works’ vibrant colors and blissful narratives make Casa Juan X Sansó a source of joy and happiness for one’s space. The limited-edition collection sparks exuberance, invigorating spaces and shared experiences.
