The Department of Agrarian Reform has condoned nearly P125 million in agrarian debt to boost agricultural production among more than 3,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Central Luzon.
The debt condonation was carried out during a large-scale, simultaneous regionwide distribution activity on 19 December 2025, led by DAR Central Luzon, which also included the awarding of land titles.
DAR Director IV and Officer-in-Charge Regional Director Atty. Eric Francis Luna said close to 500 Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) titles, more than 400 regular land titles, and around 4,200 Certificates of Condonation were awarded to over 4,000 agrarian reform beneficiaries across the region.
“Napakalaking ginhawa at saya ang nararamdaman namin ngayon. Nagpapasalamat po kami sa ating mahal na Pangulong Bongbong Marcos Jr. at Secretary Conrado Estrella III sa pagpapakaloob sa amin ng mga titulo, at maraming salamat po sa DAR at sa lahat ng tumulong sa amin,” said agrarian reform beneficiary Erwin Baul.
Luna said the accelerated condonation of agrarian debts is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III.
Republic Act No. 11953, or the New Agrarian Emancipation Act, which was signed into law by President Marcos on 7 July 2023, condones all unpaid agrarian debts, including interest and surcharges. The law aims to enable DAR-assisted farmers to reinvest in agricultural production and increase their income.
The regionwide activity also advances the department’s nine priority goals under the leadership of Secretary Estrella, DAR said.
