Dr. MJ Esclavia Cadigal-Ebrahimi: From doctor to the barrios to Bacolod’s beauty expert

Dr. Mary June “MJ” Esclavia Cadigal-Ebrahimi’s journey from Doctor to the Barrios to becoming Bacolod’s premier aesthetic expert is a story rooted in service, science, and an unwavering commitment to her community.

Fresh from passing the board exam, she prayed for the chance to serve where she was needed most. Assigned to remote areas, she witnessed firsthand how poverty and lack of resources kept families from accessing proper medical care.

“After passing my board exam I really prayed that I want to serve the communities… I saw cases that families can’t send their sick family members to the hospital because of financial challenges,” she shared.

One area that left a profound mark on her was Negros Occidental, especially Kabankalan City, which had some of the most alarming cases of untreated leprosy.

“That is the number one inspiration that drove me to dedicate my knowledge and work with the government,” she said. It was there that her understanding of health, compassion, and responsibility deepened — lessons that would later shape her approach to aesthetic medicine.

When Dr. MJ eventually transitioned to aesthetics, she did so not for glamour but for innovation and safety. She opened a small clinic in 2011 with a simple but ambitious dream: to bring internationally recognized beauty technologies to Bacolod and Negros.

“We started as a small clinic back in 2011. I just want to bring the latest in beauty to Bacolod and Negros and invest in devices that are renowned worldwide and safe,” she said. Grounded in honesty, she maintains a realistic philosophy about aging: “There is no such thing as anti-aging. Whether we like it or not, we age, but what we do in this industry is we defy the fast process of aging — we delay it.” This patient-centered mindset, paired with years of medical training, eventually led to the establishment of Delaram Aesthetic and Laser Center, where she serves as Medical Director. As a board-certified aesthetic physician under the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM), Dr. MJ ensures that every treatment offered is rooted in science and safety.

Today, Delaram Aesthetic and Laser Center stands as a leader in Western Visayas, recently becoming the first and only certified provider of EMSCULPT NEO® and EMFACE® in Bacolod and the entire region. These state-of-the-art technologies, created by the global medical aesthetics powerhouse BTL Aesthetics, offer non-invasive body sculpting, muscle toning, and facial lifting — innovations once accessible only in Manila or abroad. This milestone reflects Delaram’s mission to deliver world-class care close to home, reinforcing the importance of FDA-approved, clinically validated, and medically supervised treatments. With unregulated procedures and unauthorized devices becoming more common in the growing aesthetics industry, Dr. MJ champions patient education and safety, reminding Negrenses to choose treatments backed by science rather than trends.

Delaram’s partnership with BTL Aesthetics, a global leader operating in over 90 countries, underscores the clinic’s commitment to excellence. BTL is known for pioneering technologies like EMSCULPT NEO®, EMFACE®, EXION®, and EMSELLA® — all designed to deliver real, measurable results. By bringing these certified devices to Bacolod, Dr. MJ ensures that patients receive advanced care without compromising safety or authenticity. Under her leadership, Delaram continues to elevate the aesthetic landscape of the region, offering transformative yet safe procedures that align with global standards.

From treating leprosy in remote communities to providing cutting-edge aesthetic solutions in a premier clinic, Dr. MJ’s journey is a testament to purpose-driven success. Her story proves that true expertise is shaped not just by education or technology but by compassion and integrity. What began as a calling to serve the underserved has evolved into a mission to uplift her community in new ways — through beauty, wellness, science, and empowerment.
