Jailed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo will be transferred anytime this week to the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City from the Pasig City Jail, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Wednesday.
“We will transfer (her) within the week,” BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said, noting that the commitment order for Guo’s transfer had been received by the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory on Tuesday.
“Commitment order for the transfer of Alice Guo to CIW received by Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory on December 2, 2025,” Bustinera said.
He added that they are now preparing Guo’s medical and laboratory examination, a standard procedure before any detainee is moved to a different detention facility. Once medical clearance is issued, Bustinera said Guo is expected to be transferred within the week.
The Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167 earlier denied the motion filed by Guo’s camp seeking to keep her at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory instead of being transferred to the CIW.
Last week, the same court sentenced Guo to life imprisonment and ordered her detention at the CIW following her conviction for qualified human trafficking.
Guo and others were charged with violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended by the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012 and the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022.
