At the tree lighting ceremony last Tuesday, 18 November, DAILY TRIBUNE got the chance to chat with Lilibeth Campos, who has spent more than 25 years designing jewelry.
What started with creating her own pieces eventually grew into a full line after friends began requesting her designs. Her collection is as beautiful as the mind behind it, and the colored stones and shapes reflect the heart and personality of designer herself. When asked where she draws inspiration, she said, “It’s two factors, first when I travel, I get an inspiration or when I see an object, I could even make a necklace based from my chandelier because my chandelier has leaves and branches so I created something like that.”
Campos designs one-of-a-kind jewelry that can spark conversation without breaking the bank. Knowing that quality jewelry often comes with a cost, she originally worked with gold and diamonds before shifting to semi-precious stones sourced locally and sometimes through auction houses abroad, as well as sterling silver plated in 24k gold.
Aside from wanting her creations to be more accessible, Campos believes colored stones are more fabulous than plain diamonds. The textures and variations add character when worn. She is not a fan of the dainty look and instead prefers layered and chunky pieces. She hopes that those who wear her designs can let their style shine, whether for everyday wear or special occasions.
Corso Como 88 president and CEO Imelda Menguito-Sciandra says she is grateful for their partnership with Hongqi, one of the leading brands for electric vehicles, because it perfectly matches the demographic of their clientele.
