The Department of Health (DOH) reported an 8 percent decrease in dengue cases nationwide, from 15,182 cases in the week of 28 September to 11 October 2025, down to 14,038 cases in the week of 12 to 25 October 2025.
The agency, however, noted that the decrease occurred prior to typhoons Tino and Uwan, reminding the public to remain vigilant as the cyclones may create new breeding sites for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
"Therefore, the agency once again reminds us not to be complacent," the DOH said in a Facebook post.
DOH also reiterated its Taob (drain), Taktak (shake/spill), Tuyo (dry), and Takip (cover) campaign, which aims to eliminate dengue breeding sites. The measures can be applied to broken tires, pots, trash cans, and other potential water containers.
The agency also repeated common dengue symptoms, which include fever, rashes, body, muscle, and eye pain, vomiting, and dizziness.
