Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that it will allow small dogs to fly inside the cabin on a limited number of domestic flights.
According to PAL on Wednesday, the service, called “FurPAL,” is being offered on selected flights to Boracay (Caticlan), Bohol (Tagbilaran/Panglao), and Siargao.
The add-on will cost P2,500 one way and requires that dogs be placed in a small carrier that can fit under the cabin seat. The airline specified a size limit of 45 cm x 25 cm x 28 cm.
Several documents are required before a pet will be accepted, including a veterinary health certificate, a shipping permit issued by the Bureau of Animal Industry, and a waiver form.
The service is currently limited to small dogs but may extend to other dog sizes and other types of pets depending on aviation security rules and regulatory guidelines.
