Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) is increasing its Manila–Los Angeles nonstop service from 14 to 18 flights weekly by June next year to meet rising demand for travel to and from the West Coast.

The Lucio Tan-led carrier said Thursday that its current twice-daily operation using Boeing 777 aircraft will expand to three daily flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays starting next year.

“By increasing our capacity on this key route, we are opening doors for travelers to experience the world-class service and heartfelt hospitality unique to Philippine Airlines, while also supporting the dynamic economic relationship that drives opportunities between the Philippines and the US,” PAL President Richard Nuttall said.

He added that the expanded service provides seamless access to PAL’s extensive domestic and regional network, making onward travel throughout the Philippines and across Asia more convenient.

The additional flights will also enhance connectivity to other parts of the United States through PAL’s airline partners and increase cargo capacity by up to 60 tons per week across Manila, other parts of Asia, and Los Angeles.

According to PAL, the L.A. expansion supports its North American growth, which also includes a planned increase in Manila–Seattle flights from three to five weekly starting 25 November, alongside ongoing services to San Francisco, New York, Honolulu, and Guam.

Adding to its network expansion, PAL will launch a thrice-weekly Cebu–Guam nonstop route starting 16 December, creating the only direct link between the two cities.
