The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) has implemented a one-month moratorium on housing amortization payments for member-beneficiaries affected by recent typhoons “Tino” and super typhoon “Uwan,” the agency announced Tuesday.
This move follows a directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and an instruction from Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to extend immediate relief to heavily affected homeowners.
The moratorium for communities hit by typhoon “Tino” runs from 4 November to 3 December 2025. It applies to beneficiaries in Regions 4-B (MIMAROPA), 6 (Western Visayas), 7 (Central Visayas), 8 (Eastern Visayas) and 13 (CARAGA).
For areas affected by super typhoon “Uwan,” the moratorium is effective from 11 November to 10 December 2025. This covers beneficiaries in the National Capital Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Regions 1 (Ilocos), 2 (Cagayan Valley), 3 (Central Luzon), 4-A (CALABARZON), 4-B (MIMAROPA), 5 (Bicol) and 8 (Eastern Visayas).
SHFC president and CEO Federico Laxa said the moratorium is part of the agency’s support for the national government’s efforts to ease the burden on affected families.
