DMCI Homes’ in-app carpooling service RideShare is helping ease daily commutes and reduce traffic congestion among its condominium communities across Metro Manila, the developer announced.
RideShare, which can be booked through the DMCI Communities mobile app, allows residents to share shuttle rides to key destinations such as Bonifacio Global City (BGC). The service first launched in Acacia Estates, Taguig in November 2022, and has since expanded to Brixton Place, Fairlane Residences, Lumiere Residences, Prisma Residences, Sheridan Towers, Allegra Garden Place, Kai Garden Residences, and Dansalan Gardens Condominiums.
The program has recorded over 140,000 bookings, offering predictable travel schedules, fixed fares, and designated pick-up points to help residents avoid long queues and high transport costs.
“I'm actively also promoting ridesharing to beat traffic because each car owner is traffic and we should take every chance not to be part of the traffic situation,” resident Arnold Romero said. He noted that predictability, convenience, and reduced environmental impact were among the service’s key benefits.
Transportation experts also acknowledged the program’s potential to reduce road congestion. Dr. Jose Regin Regidor of the University of the Philippines–National Center for Transportation Studies said shared mobility within residential communities can “ferry multiple passengers in one go,” minimizing private vehicle use and improving travel experience.
The initiative was recognized in 2024 with the Gold Award for Innovation in Transportation & Logistics at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.
As more DMCI Homes developments adopt RideShare, the company said the program supports efforts to promote sustainable city living, reduce fuel consumption, and foster stronger community ties among condo residents.
DMCI Homes, the first Quadruple A real estate developer in the country, has built more than 70 residential communities since 1999.
