The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported that more than 180,000 beneficiaries have already registered and been verified through its newly launched Basta Beripikado Mabilis (BBM) ang Serbisyo App, the agency’s online identity verification platform.
DSWD Social Registry Office Director Jimmy Francis Schuck said the BBM Serbisyo system strengthens the agency’s Know-Your-Customer (KYC) process to ensure that assistance reaches only legitimate beneficiaries.
The app helps safeguard DSWD programs—including the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), and other social services—from “ghost beneficiaries,” duplicate claimants, and fraudulent identities.
“This new breakthrough in the DSWD’s digitalization strategy is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to bring governance to the digital age,” the agency said.
Beneficiaries with PSA-issued national IDs, whether printed or digital, may register through the BBM Serbisyo portal. The app also enables beneficiaries to authenticate IDs or retrieve a digital copy if their physical card is lost.
Shuck noted that completing ID verification ensures faster approval of assistance and prevents duplicate entries in the DSWD database.
To expand coverage in remote or internet-poor communities, the DSWD is coordinating with the PSA for on-site registrations during payouts, caravans, and Family Development Sessions.
“Inaprubahan na rin ni Secretary Rex ang aming mga plano to further increase the BBM Serbisyo turnout… pwedeng gamitin ang mga ganong pamamaraan para ma-authenticate talaga ang mga kliyente,” Schuck said.
DSWD continues to urge all beneficiaries to register through the platform:
“Inaanyayahan ng DSWD ang lahat ng clients and beneficiaries nito na magpa-verify na, mag BBM Serbisyo dahil basta beripikado, mabilis ang serbisyo,” he added.
