Amid growing speculation and public concern surrounding recent developments in Thailand, Miss Universe Organization (MUO) President Raul Rocha has released an official video statement addressing the ongoing issues linked to the 74th Miss Universe Competition.
In his message, Rocha confronted the situation with transparency, assuring the global Miss Universe community that the organization remains steadfast in upholding its core principles of integrity, fairness, and professionalism.
“The Miss Universe brand stands for empowerment, respect, and inclusivity,” Rocha emphasized. “We will continue to ensure that every candidate, partner, and supporter experiences a competition that reflects those values.”
A key point of his address involved clarifying the involvement of Nawat Itsaragrisil, the President of Miss Grand International, whose recent presence at Miss Universe-related activities in Thailand has drawn public scrutiny. Rocha confirmed that steps have been taken to limit or entirely remove Nawat’s participation from any official Miss Universe events.
“I have restricted Nawat’s participation in activities connected to the 74th Miss Universe Competition,” Rocha stated firmly, underscoring MUO’s intent to prevent any further conflict or confusion surrounding the collaboration between organizations.
Rocha further reiterated that the organization’s foremost concern is the safety, dignity, and well-being of all delegates. Every effort, he said, is being made to guarantee a secure and positive environment where contestants can focus on their journey toward the crown without distraction or controversy.
“Our priority has always been our candidates — their voice, their dreams, and their empowerment,” Rocha affirmed.
The statement comes at a pivotal time as all eyes turn toward Bangkok, the host city for this year’s Miss Universe competition. With preparations in full swing, Rocha’s assurance aims to restore confidence among national directors, fans, and international partners alike.
As the 74th Miss Universe pageant approaches, the message from MUO’s leadership is clear: the organization is united, transparent, and fully committed to protecting the integrity of one of the world’s most respected global platforms for women.
