According to PCG, the BRP Cabra (MRRV-4409) received a request for assistance from FBERVY 8 via the designated radio channel around 8:20am.
On Saturday, 1 November, BRP Cabra dispatched personnel via skiff boat to inspect the engine.
Upon assessment, it was determined that the main engine could not be repaired while at sea and need further overhaul at port.
Following the inspection, the BRP Cabra initiated towing operations to bring FB ERVY 8 safely back to Subic, Zambales, with an expected time of arrival at 10pm on Sunday, 2 November.
