Passengers using ports are estimated to reach 1 million for this year’s All Souls’ and Saints’ Day, or Undas 2025, based on the monitoring of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) on Friday.

The PPA said that as of 12 noon on 31 October, port passengers in all PPA-governed ports reached 952,258.

The number of passengers using ports may exceed 1 million, the agency noted—though this remains significantly lower than the 2.2 million passengers who traveled through ports during Undas 2024.

Meanwhile, the PPA said passengers are now able to travel more safely and smoothly through Batangas Port after it closed the former pedestrian entrance at the “Yellow Gate” in October 2024. The move was aimed at ending the operations of fixers and preventing the entry of unauthorized individuals inside the port.

It can be recalled that the former entrance at the Yellow Gate, located at the Vendors Plaza opposite the Batangas Livelihood Center, was previously used by passengers to enter the terminal.

With its closure, the flow of passengers has become more organized, and port security has been strengthened.

Today, the new terminal entrance at Santa Clara Road serves as the official passenger passageway—safer, smoother, and more efficient for all travelers, according to the PPA.
