The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has received a Four Golden Arrow recognition in honor of the distribution utility’s outstanding corporate governance practices.
Receiving the award on behalf of Meralco was Atty. Jocelyn C. Villar-Altamira, Vice President and Head of Corporate Governance and Compliance, during the 2025 Golden Arrow Awards held on Thursday, 23 October, in Pasay City.
Organized by the Institute of Corporate Directors, the Golden Arrow Awards recognize companies in the Philippines that have demonstrated exceptional performance in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) assessment. This distinction reflects Meralco’s strong adherence to international best practices in corporate governance, transparency, and accountability.
Earlier this year, Meralco was also honored with an ASEAN Asset Class Award for being among the Top 35 publicly listed companies in Southeast Asia during the ASEAN Corporate Governance Conference and Awards held on July 24, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With the steadfast support of its leadership, Meralco continues to strengthen corporate governance practices and advance responsible management across the organization.
The latest Four-Golden Arrow recognition stands as a testament to Meralco’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance and its dedication to operating with integrity, fairness, and honesty—hallmarks of its pursuit of long-term value creation and organizational excellence.
