The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) confirmed on Wednesday that the registered air assets of former Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co have already left the country.
In an official statement, the CAAP reported that two AgustaWestland helicopters linked to Co flew to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, on 20 August 2025 and 11 September 2025, respectively. Meanwhile, a Gulfstream aircraft under his name has been in Singapore since 16 August 2025.
“All aircraft movements are being closely monitored in accordance with Philippine aviation laws and regulations,” the agency said, assuring the public that all registered air assets remain under official oversight.
The development comes after the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) issued a new subpoena to Co on Tuesday, urging him to return to the country to address allegations of corruption related to anomalous flood control projects.
Co has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
In September 2025, he resigned from the House of Representatives, citing “real, direct, grave, and imminent threats” to his life and that of his family, as well as what he described as a “clear denial of due process.”
The ICI earlier recommended the filing of graft, malversation, and falsification charges before the Office of the Ombudsman against Co, in connection with the allegedly irregular P289.5-million road dike project along the Mag-Asawang Tubig River in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
