Romance movies captivate Indians as much as Filipinos. One such film is “Diwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ),” where a man tries to win his beloved’s father’s approval of their relationship.
Released in 1995, DDLJ is still being shown in a Mumbai theater as people continue to watch it, like 50-year-old diamond worker Suneel Shedge, who claims to watch it daily, CNN reports.
Another DDLJ addict is 23-year-old Vaishnavi Deshmukh, who claims to have lost count of how many times she has seen the film, according to CNN.
Making the super extended screening of DDLJ possible is the less than $1 price of a movie ticket, aside from the good script and its charming stars, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, who play the lead characters.
Meanwhile, the film “Bugonia,” starring multi-awarded American actress and film producer, Emma Stone, also drew fans to its premiere at the Culver Theater in Los Angeles, California on 20 October.
As a come-on, premiere organizers offered free admission to bald moviegoers as the lead character in “Bugonia,” played by Stone, is dome-shaven, New York Post (NYP) reports.
Fans who were not bald, however, were also able to watch the long-delayed movie for free. A barber was hired to shave people’s heads for free admission to the early screening, according to NYP.
Around 25 daring moviegoers had their heads shaved to watch “Bugonia.” One of them, freelance actress Rita Frenzel, said she just wanted to get a haircut because her hair was too long, reports NYP.
