The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 6,457 cases of influenza-like illness (ILI) in the country from 28 September to 11 October 2025.
According to the DOH, this figure is 39 percent lower compared to the 10,470 cases reported between 14 and 17 September 2025.
The health department noted that while the numbers may still change due to continuous surveillance, the latest total remains 25 percent lower than the 8,628 cases recorded during the same period last year.
DOH Secretary Ted Herbosa assured the public that there is no outbreak of influenza-like illness and that no lockdown is necessary.
The health chief reminded everyone to continue practicing good hygiene such as regular handwashing with clean water and soap, covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, getting enough sleep, eating properly, and staying hydrated.
He added that individuals experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, and body aches should stay indoors to avoid spreading the illness, take medication to relieve symptoms—such as paracetamol for fever—and immediately consult the nearest health center or hospital for proper treatment.
