Max’s Restaurant traced back its humble beginnings as it launched a P5 fried chicken offer on its 80th anniversary celebration on Saturday at its first-ever branch in Scout Lozano, Quezon City.
“We wanted to celebrate where we bring in as many people as we can,” said Max’s Vice President for Marketing Jim Fuentebella.
“The ultimate goal is for them to reconnect, re-engage, and bring that sense of community,” he added.
The special meal included the restaurant’s famous half spring chicken, a choice between dinner rolls or rice, and a glass of soda.
According to organizers, eager customers began lining up as early as 6:30 AM to take part in the nostalgic celebration.
Nicknamed “The House That Fried Chicken Built,” Max’s priced its chicken at P5 to honor its original 1945 rate.
“Whoever comes to the house should always come away with change,” Fuentebella explained, recalling the restaurant’s long-standing philosophy of value and hospitality.
He also shared that this principle of pricing has influenced Max’s Group’s other brands, including Krispy Kreme.
After the event, customers received souvenir receipts styled after the restaurant’s vintage design, along with a button pin featuring Max’s original logo.
