Vice President Sara Duterte remains positive that the current flood control scandal will not reach her office.
“I'm sure the flood control scandal won't reach me,” she said Thursday at Kamuning Forum in Quezon City.
“First of all, there are no flood control projects in the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and Department of Education (DepEd),” she furthered, and highlighted that she does not have any projects linked to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Moreover, Duterte backtracked and said that her relation with Senator Bong Go, another allegedly linked senator to the issue, would be the reason why her office could possibly be embroiled in the fiasco.
“I think they will try to link, I think they will try to reach my office because Senator Bong Go is an ally of former president Rodrigo Duterte.”
Contractor firm CLTG Builders, allegedly linked to Go, is said to have close ties with contractor couple Cezarah “Sarah” and Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya.
Duterte maintained a majority trust rating of 56 percent, with 23 percent undecided and 21 percent expressing distrust, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey.
