Top Palawan fugitive arrested

CALAPAN City, Oriental Mindoro — Police authorities in MIMAROPA have arrested Palawan’s top most wanted person — a 39-year-old woman wanted for robbery with violence — during a law enforcement operation in Coron, Palawan.
Brig. Gen. Jovencio S. Badua Jr., the newly designated regional director of Police Regional Office MIMAROPA, said the suspect, known only by her alias “Jennifer,” was captured on 9 October in Barangay Poblacion 1 by operatives from the Coron Municipal Police Station, the Palawan Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the 2nd Special Operations Unit of the PNP Maritime Group.
Her arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 163 in Coron for robbery with violence against or intimidation of persons under Article 294(5) of the Revised Penal Code. The court set her bail at P100,000.
“Jennifer” is now under police custody and will be turned over to the court for proper disposition.
Gen. Badua, who recently assumed his post as regional director, commended the operating teams for the successful operation, describing it as part of the regional police’s intensified campaign against wanted persons in MIMAROPA.
In line with his directive to boost law enforcement efforts, Badua also introduced an initiative dubbed “Enhanced A.L.E.R.T.O.” — short for Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement through Responsive and Transformative Organization — aimed at strengthening coordination, discipline, and operational responsiveness among police units.
During his first command visit to the Romblon Police Provincial Office in Barangay Capaclan, Romblon, on 10 October, Gen. Badua was warmly received by provincial director Col. Rexton Sawi and the officers and personnel of the local police, who rendered him Foyer Honors.
