Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija – Three members of communist terrorist groups (CTGs) surrendered to authorities in this town on 14 August 2025.
According to the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), the three are members of the CPP-NPA who surrendered thru the sustained Local Peace Engagement efforts of the Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
The surrender was made possible through joint special intelligence operations conducted by NEPPO 1st PMFC, Zaragoza MPS, NEPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, and PIT NE RIU 3.
The former members of the CTGs were affiliated with Damayan Ng Mamamayan para sa Kaapihan at Kahirapan (DAMAKKA) under the Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon-Nueva Ecija Chapter (AMGL-NE). They were identified as Ka Marrie, Ka Abi, and Ka Beteng.
Based on their account, the three revealed that they were recruited by Ka Rosie in 2018.
