The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) announced Saturday the arrest of Shawn Abner Golden, alias "Chot," who was wanted for murder and frustrated murder, following his voluntary surrender in San Antonio, Zambales.
Reports showed that on 6 August 2025, agents from the NBI-Dagupan District Office (NBI-DADO) located Golden in Barangay Pundaquit, San Antonio, Zambales, where he was staying with a friend. After being informed of his constitutional rights, Golden willingly surrendered and was taken into custody.
The operation was initiated after NBI Director Jaime B. Santiago received surrender feelers from Golden’s camp on 5 August 2025. Verification confirmed two active arrest warrants against Golden: one for murder and another for frustrated murder, both issued by RTC Branch 71 in Iba, Zambales.
Golden was brought to the NBI-Dagupan District Office for booking, medical examination, and documentation. The NBI emphasized that standard procedures were followed throughout the operation.
