The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), in coordination with the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and South Korean authorities, arrested Korean national Jang Sejong on Friday in Parañaque City.
On Saturday, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said Jang was the subject of an active Interpol Red Notice for multiple fraud charges.
The operation, led by the NBI International Operations Division (NBI-IOD) and the BI Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU), took place at Bayshore 1 Resorts Condominium in Barangay Tambo.
After coordinating with building security, agents apprehended Jang in Unit 12A and served the Interpol Red Notice warrant. He was informed of the charges against him and his constitutional rights.
Following his arrest, Jang underwent standard booking procedures at the NBI, including fingerprinting and a medical examination, before being turned over to the Bureau of Immigration for deportation proceedings.
Meanwhile, a man using an alias to avoid detection was arrested by the NBI for illegal recruitment, estafa, and acts of lasciviousness, following complaints from several victims.
An entrapment operation led to the arrest of Noel P. Santos, also known as Mark Ivan Rosel.
