Longtime Lotto player claims P21.5-M MegaLotto 6/45 Jackpot
Published on

A new millionaire, who has been consistently betting on the same number combination since college, has finally hit the jackpot, claiming the P21,538,656.00 MegaLotto 6/45 prize on 28 July 2025, at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.

The lucky winner, an employee of a private company, purchased his winning ticket for the 16 July 2025, draw at a lotto outlet in San Pedro, Laguna. The winning combination was 44-30-12-24-06-35, numbers which he said were inspired by the birthdates of his siblings.

Despite placing the bet on July 16, the winner didn’t immediately check the results. He only knew that there was one lucky winner for that draw.

Out of routine, he again placed a bet with the same combination on July 18. It was only on July 27, more than a week later, that he finally checked his old ticket online and realized he had won the jackpot.

The ceremonial turnover of the prize was led by Arnold Arriola, representing PCSO General Manager Mel Robles. The winner shared that he intends to deposit the entire amount in the bank under a time deposit for safekeeping. Currently, he has no other immediate plans for where he would spend the prize.

Under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (TRAIN) Law, a 20 percent tax was deducted from the prize since it exceeded P10,000.

To claim lotto winnings, winners must present the original signed ticket and two valid government-issued IDs. Winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prizes. Unclaimed amounts go directly to the PCSO Charity Fund, which supports various health and welfare programs nationwide.

The MegaLotto 6/45 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 PM, with live coverage on IBC TV 13 and the PCSO
