A Cebuano resident has claimed the P109,545,674.80 MegaLotto 6/49 jackpot from the Sunday, 23 February 2025, draw. The winner, a longtime lottery player, plans to use the prize to expand their family business.
The bettor, who has been playing the lottery for 41 years, purchased the winning ticket in advance on Saturday, 22 February, at a lotto outlet in Cebu City.
He only realized he had won when he attempted to replay the same numbers on Tuesday, 25 February, and was informed by a lotto teller that his numbers had already won.
After confirming the win with his wife, the couple checked the tickets they had purchased.
The winner plans to invest the prize in expanding their family business.
To claim the jackpot, winners must present the original signed ticket along with two valid government-issued IDs. As per the TRAIN Law, a 20 percent tax is deducted from prizes exceeding P10,000.
Winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prizes, after which unclaimed amounts are forfeited and added to the PCSO Charity Fund.
