Sydney Sweeney takes the spotlight anew as publicly available records reviewed by The Guardian revealed her party affiliation as Republican.
The 27-year-old Euphoria actress has been a registered voter with the Republican Party of Florida in Monroe County since June 2024.
This news comes after the backlash of her latest campaign with American Eagle.
While the ad appeared to be making a pun about denim using the phrases “Sydney Sweeney has great genes,” with “genes” crossed out and replaced with “jeans,” critics accuse the brand and Sweeney of promoting “eugenics” and “white supremacy.”
American Eagle took to Instagram to defend The White Lotus actress, saying that the “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans" ad is "always about jeans. Her jeans. Her story.”
The brand added that they will continue to “celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence" as "great jeans look good on anyone.”
