Jennie lends voice to ‘Steps’ soundtrack

Blackpink’s Jennie is lending her voice to Netflix’s upcoming animated film Steps, contributing a new track titled “Someone to Hold” to the movie’s soundtrack, set for release on 20 November.
The album also features four original songs written and produced by Grammy-nominated songwriter Justin Tranter, with additional vocals from Oscar-nominated actress Amanda Seyfried, singer-songwriter Rose Gray and Emei. The film’s score comes from Oscar-winning composer Kris Bowers, known for his work on Bridgerton.
Premiering on Netflix on the same date, Steps puts a new spin on the Cinderella story by shifting the spotlight to her stepsisters, Lilith and Margot. After Lilith takes the Fairy Godmother’s wand and disrupts the royal ball, the sisters find themselves caught in a struggle against Priscilla, a schemer who seizes control of the kingdom.
Lilith eventually joins forces with Cinderella to fight their way through dangerous encounters and save the kingdom — while trying to repair their relationship.
The voice cast includes Ali Wong as Lilith, Stephanie Hsu as Margot, Seyfried as Cinderella and Nikki Glaser as Priscilla. Bette Midler voices the Fairy Godmother, with Daniel Radcliffe, Young Mazino, Peter Dinklage and Damian Priest also joining the cast.
Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, the film is produced by Amy Poehler, Jane Hartwell and Kim Lessing under Paper Kite Productions.
The Steps soundtrack will be available on streaming platforms on 20 November, alongside the film’s Netflix debut.
