A heartwarming tribute to friendship, faith, and lasting bonds
It was a touching reunion filled with love, memories, and quiet reflection as members of the iconic 90s youth-oriented show T.G.I.S. came together for the baptism of Rykr Rogue Sternberg, the son of their late co-star Red Sternberg.
Angelu de Leon, one of the show’s beloved leads, shared a heartfelt message on social media following the intimate ceremony:
“Welcome to the Christian world, Rykr Rogue Sternberg!
It was a wonderful moment to meet Red’s beautiful family: his wife Sandy, and her two lovely daughters.
I am honored to be chosen as Rykr’s godparent alongside @iambobbyandrews, @michaeljohnflores, and Direk @direkmark.
The ceremony was simple and very intimate. Oh, how we missed you, Red.”
The gathering brought together some of Red’s closest friends and castmates, including Bobby Andrews, Michael Flores, and Direk Mark Reyes, who were also named as Rykr’s godparents. While the celebration centered on new beginnings, it was also a quiet remembrance of Red’s life and legacy—both as a cherished friend and as part of a generation-defining TV series that shaped Filipino teen culture.
Though years have passed since T.G.I.S. last aired, the reunion served as a powerful reminder that the bond formed on and off screen among its cast remains unbroken—one of family, faith, and enduring love.
Welcome to the Christian world, Rykr. And to Red—your light continues to shine through those who love you most.
