Netflix has officially announced the final cast for Pride and Prejudice, a six-part adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved novel, helmed by bestselling author Dolly Alderton and Heartstopper director Euros Lyn. Production is now underway in the UK.

The project previously revealed Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin (Black Mirror, Lady Chatterley’s Lover) as Elizabeth Bennet and BAFTA winner Jack Lowden (Slow Horses) as Mr. Darcy. Academy Award winner Olivia Colman (The Favourite, The Crown) will portray Mrs. Bennet.

The newly revealed ensemble includes Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, and Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery in their screen debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet.

Suitors will be played by Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham. Siena Kelly joins as Caroline Bingley, with Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.

Additional cast includes Anjana Vasan as Mrs. Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto as Mr. Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber as Mrs. Hurst, James Dryden as Mr. Hurst, Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster, and Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy.

Alderton, who won the National Book Award for Everything I Know About Love, shared her enthusiasm:
“Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy — it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life."

“The book is a gift to adapt — packed with drama and depth as well as comedy and charm,” she continued. “In it lies the opportunity to examine the complexities of love, family, friendship, and society, while aspiring to Austen’s delightfully observational voice.”

Emma Corrin, who also takes on her first executive producer credit for the series, said:
“Playing Elizabeth Bennet is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. To be able to bring this iconic character to life, alongside Olivia and Jack, with Dolly’s phenomenal scripts, is truly the greatest honor. I can’t wait for a new generation to fall in love with this story all over again.”

Executive producers include Alderton, Lyn, Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point. Lisa Osborne (Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light) is producing.

Netflix executive Mona Qureshi added:
“Dolly’s fierce intelligence and enormous heart, twinned with her genuine love of the Austen novel, means she is able to bring new insights, whilst celebrating all that the generations of fans hold so dear. The caliber of a cast led by Emma, Jack, and Olivia is testament to this precious story being in the best possible hands with Euros Lyn and the team at Lookout Point at the helm.”

No release date has been announced yet, but Pride and Prejudice is expected to premiere globally on Netflix after production wraps.
