Hope for cancer patients took center stage as the Philippines welcomed its first-ever CyberKnife® technology, officially launched Tuesday in Muntinlupa City.
During a press and media conference, Asian Hospital and Medical Center President and CEO Dr. Beaver Tamesis said the introduction of the state-of-the-art machine signals a transformative step in cancer care in the country.
“We have to make sure that we actually brought something new, different, for our patients, that we actually make their lives better. It's about time, CyberKnife is home,” said Dr. Tamesis.
CyberKnife® is a cutting-edge, image-guided radiation treatment system known for its extreme precision and painless delivery. The technology enables targeted treatment of cancerous tumors without surgery, sparing surrounding healthy tissues and reducing patient recovery time.
The grand launch was held simultaneously at Asian Hospital and Medical Center and The Bellevue Manila, gathering medical professionals, government officials, and cancer patients. A scientific forum followed in the afternoon, attended by experts across various medical specialties.
