The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) is mobilizing support for families affected by Severe Tropical Storm "Crising," following the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to provide necessary assistance.

DHSUD Undersecretary for Disaster Response Henry Yap has instructed regional offices to coordinate with local government units and other agencies for post-disaster response. He also called on the department’s key shelter agencies — Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Housing Finance Corporation, National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation, and the National Housing Authority — to offer support.

"Per the directive of Secretary Ping [Aliling], DHSUD's key shelter agencies are to exhaust all ways on how to assist the typhoon victims, and to immediately implement the same at the soonest possible time," Yap told agency heads.

"This may include amortization relief/breaks, community assistance on resettlement and project sites, provision of hygiene kits," he added.

As of 9:00 AM Saturday, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported 276 damaged houses — 34 totally destroyed and 242 partially damaged.

"All ROs in the typhoon-affected areas are directed to actively engage LGUs and other partner-agencies, and convene your respective shelter clusters immediately to determine the extent of assistance necessary," Yap said.

"As head of the Shelter Cluster, we need to be proactive for the timely delivery of our post disaster assistance," he added.

DHSUD may also deploy shelter-grade tents with partner NGOs, and through its Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP), provide P30,000 in cash aid to families with totally damaged homes and P10,000 to those with partial damage.
