The Aurora Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) raised its state of readiness to Blue Alert due to the effects of Typhoon Crising, which battered the northern and central parts of the province on Friday morning.

The PDRRMC has placed Aurora under full-scale preparedness and activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in line with the BRAVO Emergency Preparedness and Response Protocols.

According to the latest advisory from DOST-PAGASA, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains in effect over the towns of Dilasag, Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dipaculao, and Baler, where cloudy weather and frequent rain were reported.

Meanwhile, classes were suspended in Baler, Maria Aurora, Dingalan, and Dinalungan due to power interruptions. In Dipaculao, Dilasag, and Casiguran, kindergarten classes were suspended in accordance with DepEd Memorandum No. 22, s. 2024.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Aurora also halted all motorized banca operations and suspended fishing activities due to inclement weather and rough sea conditions. The PCG has advised fisherfolk and coastal residents to refrain from any sea-related activities.

To ensure immediate relief, the provincial government has prepositioned 25,000 family food packs, hygiene kits, kitchen kits, modular tents, sleeping kits, water filtration kits, and jerry cans. It also deployed P2 million worth of medical supplies from the Department of Health and mobilized health emergency teams across all eight towns.

The PDRRMO, 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion of the Philippine Army, the Coast Guard, and the Philippine Red Cross are all on standby. Municipal DRRMOs are likewise monitoring lakes, low-lying areas, and coastal zones for any worsening conditions.
